OculloSpace has reached a major milestone in the Decimal-Sat1 satellite program, moving into the final stages of payload integration and pre-launch testing. The team is now preparing to install the ElephantJuice DNA Capsule, a symbolic payload carrying DNA-encoded messages that will soon journey into orbit.
The DNA encoding process is powered by Biosistemika, OculloSpace’s biotechnology collaborator and technology provider for DNA data conversion. This partnership bridges aerospace engineering and biotechnology, marking a significant step forward in the application of DNA data storage for space-based preservation.
The DNA capsule represents the potential of satellites to serve not only scientific functions but also humanistic and cultural expression. Through advanced biotechnological processes, messages are transformed into strands of DNA and safely encapsulated within the satellite’s payload bay — creating a durable archive of human communication in orbit.
Decimal-Sat1 has successfully completed its assembly and subsystem integration, marking significant progress toward launch readiness. The mission now advances to its final qualification stage, which includes vibration testing to ensure the spacecraft’s structural resilience under rocket launch conditions. Following successful verification, Decimal-Sat1 will proceed to rocket integration ahead of its scheduled launch in early 2026.
